CDC Museum Disease Detective Camp
16 years+ Summer prior to Junior or Senior year.
CDC Museum Disease Detective Camp (DDC) is an interdisciplinary educational program organized by the CDC Museum. DDC reflects the museum’s mission of educating the public about CDC’s work. This academic day camp is held at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Admission is open to high-school students during the summer before their junior or senior years. During camp students are immersed in the diverse field of public health.
Topics vary year to year, but may include: public health interventions, global health, infectious disease, chronic disease, injury prevention, data analysis, surveys, school wellness programs, violence prevention, environmental health, emergency preparedness, outbreaks, scientific communication, laboratory technology, disease surveillance, epidemiology, and public health law. Camp is a fast paced, academically demanding program. Participants are expected to fully immerse themselves, work together, and become a diverse team of disease detectives!
AUDIENCE: Admission is open to high-school students during the summer before their junior or senior years and they must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the camp session to which they are accepted. Participants must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Emory University Hospital Summer Teen Volunteer Program
High School Students (ages 16-18) with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
At Emory University Hospital there are a variety of opportunities for Summer Teen volunteers that fuel a genuine desire to serve others and explore the careers available in health care. We are delighted that you are interested in participating in the 2024 Emory University Hospital Summer Teen Volunteer Program. The summer program will run from June 10, 2024 – July 26, 2024, with a one-week break from July 1-5, 2024. Spaces are limited, and only completed applications will be considered for an interview.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The 2024 Emory University Hospital, Summer VolunTEEN program is a 6- week program for high school students (ages 16-18) with a minimum GPA of 3.0. This summer’s program will be conducted in person in the hospital. Students will be assigned to various departments within the hospital and will volunteer a shift from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm once per week. Students will volunteer in the same department each week. VOLUNTEER HOURS: hours will be granted for all volunteer sessions and shifts attended at Emory University Hospital including the volunteer orientation.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS - Applicants must be high school students between 16 (June 1, 2024) and 18 years old. - Participate in a virtual interview - Volunteer a minimum of four of the six-week program and complete 24 hours - Submit to a TB screening - Vaccination requirements include MMR/Varicella, and Hepatitis - Purchase a $20 uniform and follow all EUH Volunteer dress codes and safety protocols. - Attend Mandatory Volunteer Orientation

Northside Hospital Atlanta Auxiliary Volunteer Program for Teens
Mature, responsible teens over age 14 may apply for a limited number of positions in the volunteer program. This summer experience helps young people explore health careers while developing a sense of self worth. The learning environment provides them with new role models, new experiences and interaction with a diverse population
Northside Hospital Cherokee Auxiliary Volunteen Program
You must be 15 years of age by May 1, 2024 and a rising sophomore, junior or senior in high school, You must live in Cherokee County and or have a parent or guardian employed at Northside Hospital Cherokee, Have an interest in healthcare, Complete the VolunTeen Application
Be able to complete one 4 hour shift per week for 6 full weeks of the 9 week program. Morning and afternoon shifts are available Monday – Friday only. Weekend and evening shifts are not available options for VolunTeens. Service hour certificates will only be released if the minimum of 24 hours and 6 full week requirement has been completed.
Northside Hospital Forsyth VolunTeen Program
Northside Hospital Forsyth will be offering a VolunTeen Program this summer for high school students between the ages of 16 (must be 16 by January 1 the year the teen applies) and 18 years of age.
The objectives of our VolunTeen Program are to conduct an excellent education program to develop an interest in volunteer service for our participants and to provide an opportunity for students to experience the total healthcare
environment. The teens accepted for membership in the VolunTeen program will be trained and supervised by either a Northside Hospital Forsyth Auxiliary member or a hospital staff member.
Continuity is vital to our program. Do not apply to our summer program if you plan to miss more than one shift during the six-week program or cannot attend the first week of the program.
Submit an application only if you can:
Meet the required age requirement (must be 16 by January 1).
Attend the entire mandatory orientation.
Commit to volunteering for the full six-week period.
Attend your first volunteer assignment the first week of the program.
Attend the Lunch and Learn event during the summer session.
Wear the appropriate uniform at all times while volunteering.
Limit your absence to only one absence during the six-week session.
